This was the title page for my Sketchbook/Journal number 60. I started it in the Frankfurt, Germany airport on my way to teach in Italy. The 4th Edition of the Drawing book by Enstice and Peters features this page in their sketchbook section. It is color here and will be in black and white in the printed book. This has images from Rome, Siena, Frankfurt, and a pastry shop.
Here is a photo taken by Roz Waugh in Stroncone, Italy last month. We have set our sketchbooks out after working in this hill town in Umbria. Barbara, Laurie, and Judi look on as I comment about one of the sketches.

Sketchbooks in Italy workshop just concluded and the afterglow of the people, the food, the places are still fresh in my memory. This sketch was done on the edge of the Northern wall of Assisi. We paused to take in the landscape before beginning our journey to the churches of St. Francis of Assisi.

I'm back from teaching Sketchbooks in Italy 2010. The title page for Sketchbook Number 71 was drawn in Venice, Italy. I'll keep adding images from the current sketchbook each week on Saturdays. Italy was another wonderful experience.
