Sketchbooks in Italy 2010

Last two weeks in August, 2010

Kenneth O'Connell is a Professor Emeritus at the University of Oregon and President of Imagination International, Inc. He will teach a two week sketchbook workshop in Italy during the last half of August of 2010. The workshop is located one hour north of Rome in the Umbrian countryside near the town of Terni.

We will stay in an remodeled old monastery where our meals will be prepared daily by the resident staff. Each morning we will travel with sketchbooks in hand to nearby hill towns for drawing and painting. Our afternoons will be spent in the studio at La Romita School of Art. In the evenings there will be a chance to relax, work independently, view slides or share ideas and stories.

Air travel is not included, although a van will be provided to transport people from the airport in Rome to La Romita School of Art. The cost for accommodations (based on double occupancy), all local ground transportation via private bus, most meals and art instruction is about $ 3,450. A rebate of $200 is given to returnees. A single room supplement is an additional $150 per week. A deposit of $500 is required by January 1, 2010 to secure registration.
